Two events held in Cornamona earlier this year raised over €8,000 for Mayo Roscommon Hospice.

Cheque presentations for the Joyce County Challenge and the Cornamona 50 Mile Cycle were held in O’Malley’s Bar on Saturday night last. The proceeds from the two events were divided between Mayo Roscommon Hospice and Galway Hospice.

The Joyce County Challenge was held in July and gives people an opportunity to walk one of Ireland’s hidden gems. Taking the plateau of ‘Maumtrasna’ and the ‘Devils Mother’ this circuit of Lough Nafooey is an area of natural beauty often overlooked by Ireland’s walkers.

The event raised €1,800 for Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation.

The Cornamona 50 Mile Cycle was celebrating 25 years raising funds for various charities in the west of Ireland and was held in June.

It takes in the breathtaking Hills of Connemara each year.

This event raised €6,500 for Mayo Roscommon Hospice.

Everyone at Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation is extremely grateful for the effort put in by the entire community of Cornamona and the surrounding areas to raise vital funds for local Palliative Care Services.
