The Sunflower Children’s Hospice will be the first dedicated children’s hospice west of the Shannon.Â
Located in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, it will provide respite, comfort, and a safe space for families. A place where children can be cared for with dignity and families can find support, hope, and glimmers of joy.Â
Building on the success of Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation, which has already delivered two state-of-the-art hospices through community fundraising, this new project will extend care to the youngest and most vulnerable in our communities.Â
Right now, families in the west of Ireland have no local hospice facilities for children. The Sunflower Children’s Hospice will change that, offering specialist care, sensory spaces, playrooms, and family support services closer to home.Â
“It isn’t just about the care, it’s about the joy, the memories, and the relief of knowing you are not alone.”
– Family Support WorkerÂ
Together with our community, we are creating a legacy of love, compassion, and excellence.
The Sunflower Children’s Hospice will ensure that no child or family faces their journey without support, dignity, and care.
Your support will make this vision a reality. Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to opening the doors of the Sunflower Children’s Hospice.
Sunflower Children’s Hospice provides free, specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families along Ireland’s Western Seaboard.
We affirm life by treating every person with dignity, compassion, and respect, supporting both their physical and emotional needs.
Our mission is to help patients live with comfort, meaning, and dignity to the end, while easing the journey for the families who love them.
