About Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation

Founded in 1993, Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation funds, provides, develops, and supports palliative care services for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families across Mayo and Roscommon. Having built and funded two state-of-the-art hospices that provide a seven-day palliative care service in both counties through entirely fundraised income, the foundation is on an exciting path to develop a hospice for Children in the west of Ireland – The Sunflower Children’s Hospice.

We also operate 12 Mayo Roscommon Hospice charity shops which are integral to the operation of our foundation.

You will join at an exciting time, following the launch of the Sunflower Children’s Hospice project in November 2025. This will be the first children’s hospice outside Dublin and the second only in the state, providing paediatric palliative care that is vital for support children and young adults with life-limiting conditions. The service will be transformative for the families affected, as it will provide care that’s closer to home, and extend support to the parents and siblings involved.

Our work is driven by our values of Equality, Compassion, and Excellence, and sustained entirely through the generosity of our donors, fundraisers, and community.
