The much-loved Kilmovee 5K & 10K Road Races return once again to the heart of the village this Easter Saturday, April 4th 2026 at 1PM. Every year this special event brings together runners, walkers, volunteers, families and supporters from near and far for a day that is about far more than just a race.

Whether you run, jog, walk or cheer from the roadside, the Kilmovee Road Races are a celebration of community spirit, generosity and togetherness.

We are so grateful that yet again, they have chosen to raise funds for the Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation from this event.

A New Song for 2026 🎶

The organisers have introduced a brand new Kilmovee Road Races song for 2026 – a rousing, community-spirited anthem celebrating our annual event.

From the buzz of anticipation before the starting horn to the steady rhythm of runners taking on the 5K and 10K routes, the song captures the unique atmosphere that makes this event so special. With neighbours, families and friends lining the roads offering cheers and encouragement, Kilmovee becomes more than a race route — it becomes a celebration of everything that makes our community special.

Running for a Cause ❤️

The Kilmovee Road Races are about purpose as much as participation.

Each year the event proudly supports two very important causes:

  • Kilmovee Shamrocks GAA Injury Fund
  • Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation

Through this event we honour loved ones, remember those we have lost, and recognise the compassion, care
and support the Hospice provides to families across our region.

When you take part, you are running for something that truly matters.

Famous Kilmovee Hospitality

The Kilmovee 5K & 10K Road Races have built a reputation for their legendary pre- and post-race hospitality.

From the moment participants register online, arrive in Kilmovee, line up at the start, and cross the finish line
the organising committee and the entire community are there to welcome and support them.

That commitment to hospitality and care will never change.

Volunteers Needed – Be Part of the Day

To make the day run smoothly, we rely on the incredible support of volunteers from the community.

If you’re unable to take part in the race this year, you can still play a vital role by helping with:

  • Course marshalling
  • Baking or bringing homemade treats
  • Sandwiches and baked goods
  • Tea bags and coffee
  • Fruit or refreshments
  • Any small contribution that helps support our runners

Every little bit helps!

How to Help

If you would like to volunteer on the day, please get in touch:

📧 John – kilmovee10k@gmail.com

If you would like to bring baked goods or refreshments, the team will be in the Kilmovee
Community Centre from around 10AM on race day, and anything you can bake, make or bring will be
greatly appreciated.
