National Sunflower Days for Hospice Palliative Care Services will take place on Friday & Saturday 9th & 10th June 2023. Hospice support groups and volunteers will be out and about on those dates, in stores and on the streets in an effort to raise the much needed funds necessary to maintain the only hospice palliative care service in the Mayo Roscommon catchment area. They will be selling their sunflowers that you can wear to show your support for the cause of Hospice.
The Foundation rely on you, the public, to support this event. Along with National Coffee morning for hospice in September, it is the only National event the Foundation hold and so it is of vital importance that it is utilised in the best possible way. Without these funds and those from other events, the service would not exist and with so many families using the homecare service, it would mean there would be no facility there for them except for public hospitals/care homes etc. Most of us have friends and family who depend on our homecare specialist palliative care service to help them in their time of need. It is for them that we appeal to you for any assistance you can give, be it by a donation or by volunteering to help with events like national sunflower days so that we can continue to provide comfort and dignity to our patients into the future.
